3G and 4G License Auctions Successully Held In Pakistan.



The unlimited wait has over and finally 4 telecom companies won the 3G licenses and 1 telecom company won the 4G license in the 3G and 4G license's auction held on 23rd April 2014. Public demand was on peak for 3G and 4G introduction in Pakistan but that issue had been putting in delay by respected authorities. Finally under the orders of Supreme court the auction has completed.

Results Of Auction:

4 major telecom companies of Pakistan took part in this auction which are Zong, Mobilink, Ufone and Telenor. Warid telecom refused to take part in this license auction.
The final results of 3G and 4G license auction in Pakistan are below.

Zong stood at top in this auction by winning a 10MHZ of 4G spectrum license from 1800MHZ band and it won also 10MHZ of 3G Spectrum from 2100MHZ band.

Mobilink won 10MHZ of 3G spectrum from 2100MHZ band.

Telenor won 5MHZ of 3G spectrum from 2100MHZ band.

Ufone also won only 5MHZ 3G spectrum from 2100MHZ band. Ufone was only telecom company along with Zong which had shown interest in buying 4G license but it didn't qualify the term of winning at least 10MHZ 3G spectrum from 2100 MHZ band.

After the final auction, 4 3G licenses have been sold and 1 4G license. Now one 4G spectrum has left for sell. The PTA chairman has announced to hold another auction soon for the license of this spectrum. This auction helped Pakistani government in generating $1.182 billions.

The telecom companies had been testing 3G and 4G services from sometime and it is very near that they will launch these commercially. The new 3G and 4G spectra will form an environment of competition among all telecom companies and they will inspire public by introducing new packages. Currently the Ufone and Telenor considered as good mobile internet service providers but that was with older 2G network. Now the public is waiting anxiously to see 3G and 4G in working order.
