Cheating Culture In Exams

Passing the examinations is the ultimate wish of any student and securing brilliant marks is their desire and need. To fulfill their desires, some students try illegal and false ways which collectively known as "Cheating". Cheating culture is becoming popular day by day in examsspecially in Sindh province of Pakistan. We read in newspapers and watch in TV channels about the increasing trend of this cheating. As the word cheating itself indicates that it is an illegal way so its surprising that 90% of our students are passing their exams by using illegal ways.

Unfortunately these students do not hesitate or feel shame over this act. This trend is becoming so popular that it seems a second nature of the student who is taking exams. After coming from their examination centers, they proudly tell their parents and friends about their cheating methods. The more the student cheats with the newer methods, the more he is considered genius and clever by his parents and friends. No feeling of shame comes while sharing their cheating experiences in exams. This thing is killing for the real purpose of education.

Examinations are taken for assessment, not for passing with false methods. Basically there are three types of students here,

1. Who are studying honestly, working hard and taking their exams without cheating.

2. Who aren't studying honestly, who do not take their studies and seriously and at the time of exams, they prepare "tools" and "instruments" for cheating. They believe that nothing would stop them from securing good marks because they are using "Genuine Cheating Materials"

3. Those who are the offspring of VIPs and rich people. They depend only on money which is the solution of all things.

It is difficult for examiner to do proper assessment among these type of students to differentiate between the worthy and non-worthy students so sometimes in this situation, a worthy students doesn't succeed in getting good marks and a cheat student easily secure good marks. This situation is not only fatal for a student but for the whole nation as this gives rise to the recruitment and employment of those people to important seats who are not worthy and efficient for that post. The ultimate result of this behavior is the failure of whole country.

Cheating, corruption and the unjustified use of source and power are major reasons which are giving us "Failure" as a nation. Cheating culture can only be stopped if we as a whole nation stand against it. Isn't it shocking that we talk about cheating culture, condemn it but when comes the time of exams, we forget our all words and thoughts against cheating and start applying this method diligently just to secure good marks. We call it success after securing marks but the matter to think is, "Is it really success?"
Think about it.. Change yourself before you can change the nation or country..
