Youtube Is Now Accessible In Pakistan Due To A Glitch

As all of you knew that there has been a ban on Youtube in Pakistan as per Supreme Court Orders since 2012. On 6th May 2014, National Assembly of Pakistan passed a resolution to unblock youtube in Pakistan but even after one and a half year, the ban has not lifted yet. Apart from this blockage, Youtube is now accessible in Pakistan due to a temporary glitch. Almost a week ago, Pakistani people were able to browse Youtube in their normal browsers without any help of VPN and Proxies.

There were rumors that PTA had silently removed the ban on Youtube but we have come to know that it was just due to a technical glitch and this access to Youtube in Pakistan is temporary which will be soon blocked.

According to Amir Atta from ProPakistani blog, PTA has not ordered any ISP to remove ban on Youtube so this blockage is still applicable. They are working to fix the glitch now and soon this temporary access to Youtube will also end.

Well if we see from an analyst perspective, banning Youtube in Pakistan has no reasonable logic. The site is still accessible via different VPNs and proxies which make the ban worthless. Moreover this ban cannot block Youtube access from smartphones' apps too. So it is meaningless to resume ban on Youtube. By blocking Youtube in Pakistan, PTA is doing nothing except for persuading people to use VPN and Proxies by which users can access other blocked sites too.

People of Pakistan will welcome the decision if the ban is lifted permanently and it should be done as our ISPs has resources to block a specific video if it hurts people. It is totally useless to continue with present strategy. I hope that this temporary access to Youtube never ends.

Zimbabwean Cricket Team Tour To Pakistan; 6 Year Wait Ends

On 19th of May 2015, a foreign international cricket team arrived at Lahore airport to resume international cricket in Pakistan. From the last six years, Pakistani cricket grounds had been waiting for the international cricket to be played inside them and it seems that this wait is going to end soon. In 2009, after terrorists attack on Sri Lankan cricket team doors to international cricket had been closed to Pakistan. All cricket playing nations refused to send their cricket teams in Pakistan due to poor security reasons and terrorism. In this tenure, only Bangladesh showed interest in sending their cricket team to Pakistan but after continuous terror incidents, they reject their proposal. Since then, it is the first time that an international cricket team has arrived in the country suffering from terrorism.

Pakistan has been fighting against terrorism since more than a decade as US announced of cracking down against Al-Qaeda after the destruction of twin World Trade towers in 9/11 attacks. The after effects of participating in this war are terrorism and the state of civil war in country itself. Previous year, terrorists attack on Karachi international airport and in Army Public school shocked the entire world showing the extreme of poor security in Pakistan. Pakistan along with other LEAs have started the operation to eliminate terrorism in whole country which has given some good results. Terrorists have been pushed back to some extent thus bringing improvements in country's security.

Pakistani cricket board assures Zimbabwean cricket board to provide fool proof security to their players and team officials. Pakistani government is providing the security to Zimbabwean team equal to the security of any foreign Head of the state. A security team from the visitors had already analyzed security measures for the series being starting from 22th Of May 2015 and after complete satisfaction gave green light for the visit of cricket team. Although after the brutal Safoora Chowk incidence in Karachi which claimed 46 lives when the 8 armed gunmen opened fires inside a bus of Ismaili community, Zimbabwean government showed concerns over sending their players to Pakistan but after the reassurance of board for security they changed their decision.

The notable thing is that, series will be restricted to Punjab only. Lahore will host all the cricket matches of upcoming series. PCB didn't agree to conduct matches in Karachi because of uncertain conditions of the city.

Pakistani nation and cricket players are passionate to see international cricket coming back to Pakistan. Although Zimbabwe ranks last in international cricket rankings but it is expected that Public will be excited to see their players playing international cricket at home after a long wait. Before this, Pakistan was conducting all its home series in UAE. Though ICC has refused to send its umpires and officials in Pakistan but they have allowed Pakistan to appoint their own for this series.

Zimbabwean team has shown great support for PCB in this state of cricket isolation of the team. Zimbabwe board is considered as the most impoverished cricket board in all cricket playing nations and they needed to play a cricket series with major playing teams for the sake of wealth. Although this might be the reason that they agreed to play in Pakistan when PCB was left alone in ICC on this issue and no one showing interest to play international cricket in Pakistan but no doubt that successful holding of this series with peace will attract others to play in Pakistan too. Hope that PCB successfully finishes this series.

Increasing Trend Of Smoking And Alcoholism In Youth.

Tobacco and alcohols are two types of drugs which are allowed legally in majority of the world assuming that they have lesser side effects than other drugs. Alcohol is still banned in many Muslim countries because it is not allowed for Muslims to drink by their religion. Pakistan is also a country where public selling, buying and dealing of alcohol or wine is prohibited and is only allowed for Non-Muslims to buy alcohol from a alcohol selling license holder dealer. Tobacco is allowed here legally but only for the people of above 18 year age.

These are the limits by Pakistani law but to say with sorry, this law is only present in Law books and read by Lawyers only. Implementation ratio on this law is nearly 0% in whole Pakistan. Whoever want to buy any of these drugs can buy easily from anywhere without any obstruction. Policemen who are deployed for checking these laws are themselves addicted to these things so we can understand why they don't try to ensure implementation on these laws.

Considering the fact that trade of alcohol or wine is only allowed to Non-Muslims of above 18 years in this Islamic State of Pakistan by law, we should die of shame when we see Muslim children of ages upto 10 drinking alcohol and becoming habitual of it. It is not only an assumption but an eye witnessed fact. It is about alcohol which isn't allowed and people don't presume it a good thing and condemn drinkers but we should keep an eye on the fact that youth of our Elite class and the children from our Labor class are becoming addicted to alcohols and no one there to stop them. Night clubs, dancing clubs and bars situated in major cities of Pakistan are flourishing this addiction. This is how elite class youth is getting into this.

We also see children of our labor class getting caught to prohibited drugs addiction including alcohols and tobacco. Very little children upto 8 years can be seen drinking wine or smoking. Though smoking tobacco is allowed only to Pakistani adult citizens but the fact is a majority of people get addicted to smoking in their teenage and their are also those who start smoking from their childhood. Cigarettes and Shisha are widely used smoking tobacco methods all over the country. Cigarette is also harmful and youth admit it but still they smoke just for fashion and enjoyment. Shisha is a modernized form of Old Hookah in which tobacco is flavorized by adding different flavors. Youth defend shisha by saying that it has not harmful effects but the fact is it is more harmful than cigarettes. The tobacco in shisha has the same effects as any of other smoking factor. A single sip of shisha emits smoke equals to 7 cigarettes and a complete round emits equal to smoke of 200 cigarettes which is severely harmful.

Another problem is that girls are also enjoying these drugs and becoming addicted to alcohol, shisha and cigarettes. They don't consider it bad things. A girl gives birth to children of next generation so what can we expect from our future generations if the mothers of nation are caught in these severe addictions. Government and Parents must play their part to keep the children away from these addictions in order to save the nation.

PCB Chairman Conflict; Zaka Ashraf Or Najam Sethi?

The conflict of PCB chairman is getting worst day by day and giving opportunities to those who seek for the hot news. The PCB chairman post is considered most high profile post in Pakistan after Prime Minister, President, Army Chief and Chief Justice and no one could wish to leave it without any reason. Well nowadays, the conflict for this chair has raised again.

A few days ago, Islamabad High Court restored Zaka Ashraf on PCB chairman seat again and suspended Najam Sethi but after 2 days, Supreme Court suspends Zaka Ashraf again restoring Najam Sethi for the seat of Chairman PCB. This hide and seek is making fun of Pakistan Cricket on international level. This has been happening since an year.

Zaka Ashraf was appointed as PCB chairman while Asif Ali Zardari was president of Pakistan. He is known as one of the best friends of former Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. After the elections 2013 and change of Government, Najam Sethi was appointed in place of Zaka Ashraf which started a cold war in Pakistani Cricket Chairmanship. In this one year tenure, both candidates for PCB chairmanship have been changed alternatively several times and this strategy of Pakistani Government is becoming one of the biggest reason of Pakistani Cricket Failure.

Our management and players are not sure about their future in PCB which is making them frightened and letting them not concentrating on their desired duties. The Government and Judiciary should solve this issue as soon as possible because ICC ODI World Cup 2014 is near and it is necessary for the Pakistani Cricket to rest at a point far from conflicts and contentions to improve performance.

On 6th May 2014, National Assembly Of Pakistan passed a resolution against the ban on youtube in Pakistan. The National Assemly unanimously passes the resolution to lift the nearly two year old ban on this site in Pakistan.

Even after 20 days, no words have been heard by us which could satisfy us for re-opening of this website in Pakistan. No ban has been lifted yet on youtube and we are still waiting for it to see youtube without proxies and VPNs again.

On February 2014 a US court had ordered Google to remove provoking and objectionable content from their video sharing site youtube and from google search. After the US court order and Google acting apologize by the removal of objectionable content from youtube, our Government must take action to make youtube accessible in Pakistan.

At this time, people are using VPNs and Proxies to view youtube videos which is not beneficial for Government. Million of Pakistanis are waiting for the re-opening of this website so Government should take responsibility and re-open the access to youtube for public.

Youtube is the free source of tutorials and information to students specially IT students so its closure seriously affects their facilitation and ease of access. The objectionable content has been removed from the site and now the Government has no reason to continue youtube ban.

Destruction Of Youth; Legally Sold Illegal Narcotics: Gutka Powder

Narcotics and drugs are commonly used in whole world as it is a profitable business for decent and civilized criminals. The name of Mafia is popular for the spread of narcotics in the planet. This is all about the illegal and forbidden drugs whose use is not allowed by law. Only Alcohol and Tobacco are those drugs which are allowed by law and the third drug which is at the line of being allowed is Marijuana. Marijuana is getting popularity in America but we are mainly concerned to those drugs which is destructing our youth.

Seeing relation of Pakistani youth with narcotics, we have to face some bitter facts. Smoking tobacco and alcohol are those drugs which had been already in the market from years. There effects cannot be tolerated and we don't dare to ignore their destruction but here we should think about some other "Legally Sold Narcotics" which is injecting poison in the blood of our youth.

Gutka Powder, MainPuri, Maawa, Gutka or Chewable tobacco in any form is more dangerous than above mentioned addictions but we have to admit this harsh reality that our youth is addicting to them. Think of a handsome guy who devastate his shinning teeth by use of chewable tobacco which steals all of their charm and attraction. Who keeps an irritating smell in his mouth and so on. This is the apparent effect of these drugs. If we see their effects on health, we will find their results more horrible.

Those who chew tobacco in any form, specially in the form of Gutka soon find reduction in the opening of mouth and ulcer in stomach and throat that leads to mouth cancer, throat cancer and other killer diseases. I am sure that if you see the process of Gutka synthesis, you will leave the thoughts of seeing towards gutka again. It would have been better is we would call gutka manufacturing factories a huge dustbin factory where every type of garbage is collected even the dead bodies of filthy animals like frogs and rats. But we should praise the dare of gutka manufactures and eaters who don't hesitate to continue their job.

Not only the wet gutka is harmful but the packed dried gutka powder is same harmful as of wet one. The dried gutka which is available in Pakistani markets with different names, like J.M gutka, My Teacher, One Two One Gutka, Raj Guru and from many other brand names is one which have spoiled the ethics of our youth more than wet gutka. After getting entry in mouth, it becomes same harmful as of wet gutka. There is one thing must noted that almost every brand of packed dried gutka which is sold in Pakistan is manufactured and imported from India. Now we must find the defect in system?

We hear many news that Pakistani provincial and Federal governments have banned the sell and import of gutka powder and its against the law to buy and sell such narcotics. We don't reach at chars, hashish, heroine, ganja, cocaine and other "High Effecting Drugs" because they are forbidden equally in whole civilized world. Our subject is that Dried Gutka Powder which is banned in our country but still we find it in every shop even found in Universities. Is it right thing?

The government declares ban on it but then why they are being sold and purchased legally without any fear of challan, punishment or law? Its answer is very simple but we don't know even by knowing it. Unfortunately, some officials from our law enforcement agencies are also addicted to this narcotic so we don't see implements on law. Those officials, whose duty is to directly deal with public are using these narcotics then where we should go to ask for their ban?

Now the most important thing, unlike wet gutka, the packed dried gutka is manufactured and imported from a neighboring country, it isn't made in our factories, then from where it comes in market and our country so we find it in every shop and area?? If government has banned it, then why they are available in markets?? This is the killer question which must be answered to save our youth from such "Legally Sold Illegal Narcotics".

Polio Problems In Pakistan: Relation Of War Against Terrorism With It

WHO has recently impose travel restrictions on three countries including Pakistan. Before saying a word on these restrictions and accusing Pakistanis not to control these disease, one should know the events took place in history which affected the polio campaigns in Pakistan and are still affecting them.

Whole world knows about the so called "Operation Neptune Spear" which was carried out in Pakistan to kill the ghost of Osama Bin Laden. I am not discussing that if it was a drama or real operation but I am only concerned with its consequences. This operation was responsible to vitiate the polio campaigns in whole Pakistan.

The agents of super power took access in the shapes of Polio Workers, to the area where they carried out their operation. They then entered the Pakistani territory and performed their tasks which provoked Pakistani public and a massive public who lives in those areas raised against the polio campaigns. Everyone knows that Pakistan is sacrificing with money, land and lives in this so called War against terrorism which has nothing to do with Pakistan but Pakistan is still fighting this war for their merciless masters.

This war has damaged Pakistan too its roots and the rise in Polio Cases in Pakistan is also due to this war. After this incident, the terrorists have found a pretext to attack on polio workers due to which a number of workers and volunteers working in polio campaign have died in attacks. These terrorists are getting some external aid and orders.

Pakistan had controlled polio to a great extent and we were near to call it as a polio free state before that operation but after it the number of polio cases has increased in the country. Workers are refusing to work as polio worker due to fear of death.

At this stage, UNO should also try to control Big Mad Elephants who are damaging Pakistan from terrorism.

NA Passes Resolution To Lift Ban On Youtube

In the National Assembly Session of 6th May 2014, National Assembly unanimously passes the resolution to lift the ban on youtube in Pakistan. This resolution was also passed in senate a couple of days ago and finally National Assembly also took action to restore youtube in Pakistan.

The popular video sharing has been blocked in Pakistan since September 2012 by PPP Prime Minister due to the provoking material in the site. A film made by an orthodox in which he made fun of Islam. This movie spark a fire of protests in whole world from Muslim side and in this response, Pakistani government banned Youtube in Pakistan.

In this tenure, Pakistani government had several times shown their intentions to filter the offensive material on this site and lift the ban on Youtube to facilitate public but those intentions haven't modified into actions.

Related to protests and offensive material on the site, A US court in February 2014 ordered Google to remove the objectionable content from their site youtube. Due to this order and recent NA resolution, it seems that Youtube will be opened soon in Pakistan.

At present, public is using proxies and VPNs to access Youtube. By these services, access to Youtube is possible but the government should take the step and open youtube so public can easily access it. Youtube is the source of help, earning and publicity for many people in Pakistan and its blockage in Pakistan isn't good for common public. Our IT experts can block specific URLs and can filter offensive videos easily so it should be done like this. Banning the site isn't a solution.
